Microwave - Chúc Xuân Thịnh Vượng at Polygon musik
Yesterday evening, my boyfriend and I went to a Microwave concert at Polygon musik club in Hanoi.
It was the first time for Ngọc to be at a rock concert and we’ve had a great evening with some small surprises.
Microwave1 is a Vietnamese Nu Metal, Alternative Rock band founded 2001 in Ho Chi Minh City. I’ve been listening to their music for quite some time already and so far found them to be the only Vietnamese rock band I actually like.
I really loved the great atmosphere these guys created at this evening! Everybody seemed to be very relaxed, enjoying themselves and having tons of fun singing and dancing along.
But take a look yourself:
And another one here:
Microwave played mostly their own songs but also came up with some surprises like songs of Linkin Park, Britney Spears, and Modern Talking. Yep, right! Modern Talking. A band that nobody wants to listen to anymore where I (and Modern Talking) come from. But here in Vietnam, their music is still quite popular.
In any case, I must admit that I really loved Microwave’s version of “You’re My Heart, You’re My Soul” and “Brother Louie”. Especially, since Khanh Tuấn Đinh, the lead singer, could reach a super high pitch which really suited the songs and made them very entertaining.
But listen yourself:
“You’re My Heart, You’re My Soul”
After the show, we took some pictures with some of the band members:
And secured their signatures on their newest album:
I will definitely go to their next concerts and follow their career. Besides, it was a delightful evening with Ngọc.
